This lovely Lincoln holiday home has three bedrooms; all dressed with luxury Egyptian cotton linens, sleeping a maximum of six people. The master bedroom has a king size bed and window overlooking the cobbled streets of Wordsworth Street and Steep Hill. The second bedroom with double bed has wonderful views of the majestic Cathedral towers. A third bedroom has a single day bed with pull out single - allowing two people to share this pretty room with French window access to the patio garden outside.
The fully equipped kitchen has a complementary pantry of condiments, teas and coffee and a large fridge freezer. All the essentials have been provided in this Lincoln self catering holiday home including dishwasher, washing machine, iron, ironing board and cleaning materials if needed. This is next door to an elegant dining room with seating for six.
The bright first floor lounge of this lovely Lincoln townhouse has a period ornamental fireplace (please don’t try to light it!), comfy sofa, armchairs and flat screen tv/dvd player. A selection of DVDs is provided and there is access to Netflix. This luxury holiday rental has free WIFI throughout.
There is a WC on the ground floor and family bathroom upstairs in between the two top floor bedrooms. This has a roll top bath and overhead shower.
The top floor loo is an elderly facility (in keeping with the old house) and the flush can be temperamental. Don't panic - it does work! The technique for success is to pull gently but firmly to the full extent of the chain - keep hold - count to five and listen. Release the chain when the flush starts. It won't be rushed, so patience is key.
The downstairs loo is modern - no patience required.
Egyptian cotton towels and toiletries are provided. There are hairdryers available in the top floor bedrooms of this Lincoln holiday home.
Please note that this is a three storey period townhouse with lots of stairs so might not be suitable for anyone finding stairs difficult.
The private walled patio of this Lincoln holiday rental is perfect for evening drinks on the terrace. The light switch for the patio terrace is in the kitchen. Ashtrays are provided on the terrace and, while the rest of the house is strictly ‘no smoking’; guests are welcome to smoke on the terrace.
Please note that as we are so close to our neighbours, we are unable to accommodate noisy parties and we respectfully request that there is no loud music played – especially on the patio – after 10pm.
The Lincoln House is situated on Wordsworth St, right in the heart of the Cathedral Quarter and historic centre of Uphill Lincoln. There are no cars parked directly outside the house. Visitor permits are provided, allowing guests to park in any nearby residential car park space. Upon arrival, guests are advised to unload the car outside the house (but don’t park there or you will be ticketed!), find the visitor permit in the kitchen, display it in the car and find a residents’ parking space nearby. There are usually spaces in Drury Lane or Carline Rd.
Very well behaved dogs have, on occasion, been allowed to stay – so do please ask.
